FIAN Nepal and National Human Rights Commission Sudurpashim Discuss About Collaboration on Advancing the Right to Food!

FIAN Nepal held a meeting with the provincial office of the National Human Rights Commission in Dhangadhi on Jestha 28, 2083.

During the meeting, Joint Secretary Mr. Prakash Datta Bhatta highlighted potential areas of cooperation between the National Human Rights Commission and FIAN Nepal. He also emphasized the important role that coordinated efforts can play in ensuring the effective implementation of food rights and related human rights commitments in the province.  At the same time, he shared insights on the current human rights situation and food insecurity challenges in Sudurpashchim Province, underscoring the importance of collaborative actions to strengthen the protection and fulfillment of the Right to Food.

FIAN Nepal shared its previous milestones and ongoing initiatives, community-based interventions, and experiences in promoting the Right to Food, supporting marginalized communities, and advocating for policy and systemic changes that contribute to food sovereignty and social justice.

The meeting was graced by the presence of our guests from ANDHERI HILFE: Ms. Janine Hamser, Mr. Roshan Minz, and Ms. Kabita Sha.

FIAN Nepal looks forward to working closely with the National Human Rights Commission to advance human rights, food justice, and sustainable food systems for all.
