Basant Pratap Singh is an accomplished journalist and development professional from Bajhang, Nepal, with over 20 years of experience in investigative reporting and public interest storytelling. His work focuses on environment, climate change, governance, human rights, and livelihoods.
He has contributed extensively through in-depth reporting with national media, including Kantipur Media Group, highlighting issues such as the right to food and nutrition in remote communities of Sudurpashchim and Karnali provinces. His work has helped raise public awareness and contributed to strengthening local discourse on food security and rights.
In addition to journalism, he is an author of photo books, including Tasbirma Bajhang (2025) and Saipal Himal (2023), documenting local landscapes, cultures, and livelihoods.
He holds a master’s degree in mass communication and journalism, as well as Rural Development. His recognitions include the WWF Nepal Conservation Award (2022), NEFEJ Environment Award (2023), and the Asian Biodiversity Fellowship (2025).
