Gender & Social Inclusion

The right to food can be violated not only due to economic reasons but due to gender, caste, ethnicity and other bases of discrimination in our society. The right to food is impaired for women and other marginalized groups due to discriminatory structures that limit access to and control over resources, insecure and unstable labour conditions and exclusion from decision-making processes that affect their lives. The fight against all forms of discrimination based on gender, caste, ethnicity, age and disability is an integral part of FIAN Nepal’s work. Hence, focus on gender and social inclusion will be part of all five thematic areas in FIAN Nepal’s work.
